CSA's Greatest Shave
With coloured hair, shaved heads, lots of food and drink, prizes and most importantly funds raised to support the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest shave, CSA raised a total of $7,768.
On the morning of Tuesday March 14th CSA Specialised Services held a fundraiser to support families facing blood cancer by supporting the Leukaemia foundation’s ‘World’s Greatest Shave’.
CSA supplied a BBQ breakfast with bacon & egg rolls at our depot in Seaford, asking for a $20 donation to raise funds for the Leukaemia foundation. Employees, contractors, clients and friends had the chance to catch up over breakfast, with plenty of opportunity for further donations through our raffle or by supporting the brave CSA staff that volunteered to shave their heads.
After breakfast Jasmine Liu, our finance manager, and two of our head honchos, Clint and Rob Hellier, lined up ready for their shave. There was a huge amount of support for those shaving, including from CSA who donated $2,000 to support Jas in her shave. $7,013 was raised through donations for shaving, including $100 donated by CSA for every employee that shaved or coloured their hair, with 20 staff participating an extra $2,200 was raised (Paul McAuely felt his beard was worth an extra $200… we all agreed).
Raffle tickets were sold with all proceeds going to the Leukaemia foundation, George Grivanos was announced the winner of the $150 gift voucher for Squires Loft in Mornington. The voucher was generously donated by CSA. With tickets at $5 each, we managed to raise a further $290.
It was a fun morning, with coloured hair, shaved heads, lots of food and drink, prizes and most importantly lots of money raised to support the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest shave. CSA raised a total of $7,768 which means we raised enough to fund 3 months of laboratory costs for a research project to discover better treatments for blood cancer.
Thank you to everyone who donated, and thank you to our 20 brave staff, particularly Jasmine, for shaving and colouring your hair, enabling us to reach our goal of $5,000+.
