Septic Tank Cleaning

Septic tanks are naturally subject to a build-up of sludge over time. Cleaning and emptying septic tanks on a regular basis is a vital aspect of keeping the system operating effectively and preventing environmental incidents.

We provide septic tank cleaning services in Melbourne and Victoria with a team of experienced operators and specialised equipment.

We offer a variety of septic tank services, ranging from cleaning and emptying to repair and general maintenance. Our waste removal equipment suits all requirements from private houses to large industrial premises. We offer a 24/7 emergency response to service any drainage or spill issue.

What Is A Septic Tank?

The word "septic" refers to the anaerobic bacterial system that forms within the tank and allows waste to decompose or mineralise.

A septic tank is a wastewater collection and treatment facility that is located underground. All of the house's drains connect to a single pipe that leads to the septic tank. The wastewater from your toilet, tub, sinks, and washing machine is mixed as it leaves your home. However, when it reaches the septic tank, it starts to split. Sludge, or the heaviest particulate matter in the waste, sinks to the bottom. The floating scum layer at the top of the tank is made up of fats, oils, and proteins.

The relatively transparent liquid layer known as effluent or grey water is in the centre. Septage refers to the combination of these elements. Only the effluent from the tank is discharged into the drain area of septic systems (also called the leach field). This is essentially a system of pipes with holes drilled in them that discharge effluent underground.

Biological decomposition, settlement, and drainage are all part of the tank's treatment process, which is non-chemical. To remove the sludge and solids that settle at the bottom of the septic tank, regular, preventive maintenance is necessary.

Septic Tank Emptying

It is critical to empty your septic tank on a regular basis to prevent pollution of nearby streams, the risk of solids escaping the tank and damaging the clarified liquid effluent, and to maintain effective efficiency.

How Often Are Septic Tanks Inspected and Emptied?

It is recommended that septic tank owners have their systems inspected every twelve months.

Inspections include measuring sludge and scum quantities, inspecting the system's pipes and structures, and inspecting the drain field to ensure it is correctly percolating the effluent.
Pumping a septic tank is normally needed every two to three years.

Septic Tank Maintenance

Generally, septic tanks need very little maintenance but must be monitored by the homeowner.
Fixing major septic issues will cost thousands of dollars in material and labour. Fortunately, a little upkeep will go a long way towards preventing issues.

Taking care of what you put down your drains and toilets, on the other hand, will significantly reduce the chances of blockages and other problems.

The irreducible solids that accumulate at the bottom of the septic tank, decreasing its capacity and effectiveness, require regular, preventive maintenance. Your septic tank system will last for several years if you manage it properly, with a little help from CSA Specialised Services.

Septic Tank Pumping and Jetting

Jetting uses high-pressure water jetting to clean septic tanks, pipes, interceptor tanks, and grease traps quickly and effectively.

Water jetting (also known as high-pressure water jetting) is becoming more common in the industry as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of tank and vessel cleaning and descaling. The septic tank needs to be pumped out before jetting. Our eductor trucks are commonly used for wet well cleans, sewers, septics and transporting bulk water. They are equipped with a high-pressure gun for hydro excavation and washing down pits and tanks.
