A 1350mm water main had a leak in North Road, Oakleigh and CSA Specialised Services were contacted to assist with excavating and exposing the water main which needed a drum band welded onto it.
Our crew were sent to the job to dig down, expose the main and clean around the pipe for the welders. We also orchestrated the trench shields fitting and removal and fitting of the pipeline.
Before the overall reinstatement could be finished, local stormwater drains and pits had to be restored.
Because the weather was a worry, pumps were installed to prevent any future problems. Our customer was in charge of automobile and pedestrian traffic control.
Our team used a Combination truck, a 13-tonne excavator, a skidsteer, a bobcat, a street sweeper, and a 150mm pump to dewater a stormwater drain which made this repair possible in a record time.
