A truck towing an A-frame trailer full of 205 litre oil drums tipped while driving through Dandenong leaving oil drums and spilled oil over the road.
CSA were called out to an emergency oil spill cleanup on Tuesday 7th March 2017 in Dandenong South as a truck towing an A-frame trailer full of 205 litre oil drums tipped while driving through the industrials. It was a delicate procedure to clean up the oil drums as risk of rupture was substantial. Each drum had to be cut to allow room for a pump to enter and suck the oil out. The drums could not be moved until the oil had been removed for risk of the drum rupturing. Many of the oil drums had been twisted and bent, this made vacuuming the oil out a difficult task. The oil that had been spilled from the drums onto the road had to be vacuumed before the road could be thoroughly cleaned. The CSA team worked on cleaning up the oil spill all day, leaving the site in pristine condition. Luckily no one was hurt and the site was reinstated to original conditions.
